Poem 26 - The Pain of Friendship

My heart says move,

But my body says no.

The connection is smooth,

But I still do not go.

The feeling compels me,

But I just don't know.

As the tears fade I can see,

But I am still afraid, my feelings, to show.

My lungs fill with air and I continue to breath,

I try to react; however, I am just too slow

I can stand and continue to allude death,

But  I remain sitting a hurt and broken soul.

Poem 25- Yellow Lights

I see the lights that guide me.

An ominous yellow trail.

I travel the road for the.

In my chariot of steel I sail.

I search for peace along this path.

The answers allude me as I pass.

I see the end and await its wrath.

The emptiness has come, as I think of the lass.

But there is the exit approaching quickly.

My course is steady as the signals shine.

I hit the off ramp gliding smoothly.

I will not stop until she will be mine.

Poem 24- But A Shadow

I am but a shadow, traveling through this land.

I am but a leaf, swiped away by a hand.

I am but a thought, whisked away in an instant.

I am but a sigh, taken from a remnant.

I am but a breeze, aimlessly flowing.

I am but a ember, slowly dulling.

I am but a whisper, that falls on deaf ears.

I am but a droplet, that flows down with the tears.

I am but a man, searching this earth.

I am but a shadow, which has lost its birth.

Poem 23- A Friend

A friend is some one who cares;
A loveing heart, a world apart.

A friend is some one who listens;
A open mind, a fantastic find.

A friend is some one who is there;
A perfect being, a precious string.

A friend is some one who sees all;
A wet shoulder, a fearless soldier.

A friend is some one who is close;
A unbreakable union, a new insight in.

A friend is some one like you;
One I can count on, one I will carry on.

Poem 22- As I Walk

As I walk along this path,
I wonder what is in store for me,
How will I look to the,
And who will my companion be.

I hike looking for a sign or two,
A place where I can meet with you,
And the one who will carry me through.

My hike has been long and tough,
I have gotten into the rough,
And my appearence has gathered some scruff.

But my spirits are high you see,
Because God has parted the sea,
And is creating a union of us three.

Poem 21- Sometimes

Sometimes we laugh and sometimes we cry.

Sometimes we are left behind and wish we would die.

Sometimes we sing and sometimes we dance

Sometimes we long for another chance.

Sometimes we have and sometimes we don't.

Sometimes we wish to act, but we won't.

Sometimes we want and sometimes seek.

Sometimes we long to fight, but are too meek.

Sometimes we lose and sometimes we win.

Sometimes we fail into falling in sin.

Sometimes I ponder how I was so blind.

And wonder if I was out of my mind.

Poem 20- The Fork In The Road

I see it there at the bottom of the hill, the fork in the road.

Into the woods and uncertainty both paths lead, from the fork in the road.

The path I want might not be the best one for me, at the fork in the road.

I look for clues but none can be found, near the fork in the road.

The day is passing and my time grows short, at the fork in the road.

I have made my decision and chosen my path, past the fork in the road.

Poem 19- The Beast

The beast is there, I can sense his essence.

High above the tree line, I feel his presence.

I ready my snare, for the prize I seek is near.

However, I can't ignore the fear.

My head grows tired, and my legs weak.

I press on, for the journey is not for the meek.

The beast is wounded, I can see its tracks.

But it continues to travel, away from the packs.

Into the high country, I continue to travel.

Through waves of earth, sand, and gravel.

Against me, my obstacles and challenges stack.

And I wonder, if I will ever get my heart back.

Poem 18- When Angels Loose Their Wings

When angels loose their wings;

The Devil and his band sings.

When angels loose their wings;

The cold, empty pain it brings.

When angels loose their wings;

The heart breaks and looses all things.

When angels loose their wings;

The empty death toll rings.

When angels loose their wings;

The foolish, to his ideals he clings.

When angels loose their wings;

My soul falls and crushes my dreams.

Poem 17- Take It Away

My heart hurts and my stomach is sick,

Lord take it away.

My loneliness arises and my inequities flood over,

Lord take it away.

My soul grows weak and my body grows tired,

Lord take it away.

My feelings swirl and my emotions stir,

Lord take it away.

My life needs help my being needs relationship,

Lord let it be.

My God take me away my Father fill me today,

Lord let it be.

Poem 16- Time

The flowers sway and the trees groan,

And they make time for you.

The mountains stand and the streams flow,

And they make time for you.

The birds soar and the animals scurry,

And they make time for you.

I travel from here to there and do everything in between,

Yet I don't make time for you.

My time has come and the stillness will prevail,

I will make time for you.
